Nominations are now open for this year's exchange and will remain open until 11:59pm EST on 29 December 2015! The tag set is here.

A reminder, this is a relationship based exchange! This means that you are matching on both medium source (aka fic or art) and the type of story you want.
  • If you want shipfic, nominate your relationship as Character A/Character B.
  • If you want genfic, nominate the relationship as Character A&Character B.

There are no restrictions on what you can nominate. The only restrictions are that you can nominate up to 5 fandoms and up to 20 relationships.

Any issues, such as possible duplication of fandoms, I'll post them here, so please keep an eye out for them.

Otherwise I look forward to seeing what you nominate!

Question about nominating a certain fandom!

How should I submit my Doctor Who (and extended universe) nominations? I want to nominate pairings for the first (classic) run of Doctor Who, the second (current) run of Doctor Who, and Torchwood. I ask because different exchanges tend to treat Doctor Who differently, depending on the needs of the exchange.

I hope I correctly nominated my Crossover ships, since I haven't seen rules about it?

Typically spinoffs (like Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures) are treated like their own fandom, and classic Who (1963) is seperate from new Who (2005).

For exchanges, though, I've seen the Whoverse treated in different ways. femslashex and Rare Pair Fest put all of the Whoverse under the Doctor Who tag, while Public Call (a Doctor Who exchange) put all of the Whoverse under "Doctor Who & Related Fandoms." Meanwhile, Every Woman, Not Prime Time, and Ship Swap seperate classic Who from new Who.

IIRC, for femslashex, some people preferred putting Doctor Who and its spinoffs together under "Doctor Who" because it allowed them to request characters in extended material such as comics and audiobooks. And Not Prime Time considers classic Who by itself as a medium-sized fandom, which is why it qualifies for that exchange.

Unless anyone objects, I'd like to put all my Whoverse noms under the "Doctor Who" tag.

Thanks for this! I'm starting to get together noms now but had a question: are relationships limited to just 2 people, or can we request (sexual or otherwise) other number combinations as well?

Thank you!

Hello mod, thanks for doing this. I've noticed the same fandom got nominated twice, with different names, could you merge it into one? It's "DC Animated Universe" and "Justice League & Justice League Unlimited (Cartoons)"

Two ships are duplicated, so one copy would need to be erased: "Clark Kent/Bruce Wayne" and "Shayera Hol/John Stewart".

I have listed "Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel the Series" as one fandom, I hope that is ok. AtS is a spin-off of BtVS, and five out of the seven characters in the relationships I have nominated appear in both shows at various points and for various lengths of time.

Since there's no guidelines I wondered the same though for a different universe (Star Trek), I eventually nominated pairings from two shows under Crossovers, instead of nominating them under an all encompassing Star Trek Prime Universe.

But I noticed some other people nominating crossover ships for interlinked fandoms (DC TV shows) under one or the other fandom instead of one merged TV show universe.

I've just realized I misworded one of my Star Trek Enterprise nominations: "Malcolm Reed/Thy'lek Shran/Soval Mirror (ST: ENT)" please could remove the "Mirror" word? Sorry for that. :/

I think especially for a ship exchange this is a good idea. No point having to have a ton of Who ships hiding in the crossover section because of characters coming from different parts of canon.

Might be worth doing the same with Star Trek? Always seems particularly weird to me when people who all exist in the 24th Century and know each other end up hidden away because they "belong" to different series.

Is this only open to writers, or is it open to art as well, like in Trick or Treat?

Book vs. Show?

I'm nominating Theon Greyjoy and Sansa Stark as Game of Thrones, since from what I gather (working my way through the books right now, but only done the first so far), they don't have the same level of interaction in the books as they do in the show (s5 specifically). Is this going to be an issue since everybody else seems to be nominated under ASOIF?

I think there's something wrong with the Star Trek TOS and AOS noms - AOS only relationships are listed under TOS as well as AOS.

Actually, looking, there's Stargate Atlantis relationships listed under Stargate SG-1 and vice versa as well.

I have a similar question to the Whoniverse question, but for the Fate visual novel/anime series. It has multiple series within this umbrella, and some of them are effectively alternate universes of each other, while others have very little or not overlap. For yuletide and other similar exchanges, it seems that those that are alternate universes of each other get nominated under one category while the prequel (Fate/Zero) and similar disconnected things get their own category. Should I follow this pattern for nominating this/these fandom(s)?

(If I need to clarify this question I will, just trying to keep it short.)

Sorry for the newbie question, but I can't seem to find the nominations form. Could you give me a link? (sorry if I missed it and can't see for looking!)

All the multifandoms have this problem of ships going all over the place, that is why it's advisable to add the fandom tag in brackets at the end of every ship. :/
