art likes: art-wise I often prefer things in a sketchier style or with stylized/flatter color schemes to perfectly realistic and polished pieces. I don’t really like chibi stuff. there are some examples of stuff I like in my letter!

Check, Please!-specific notes: CP! especially feeds my tendency to aggressively latch onto/project onto extremely closeted characters; some of my favorite fics are often the ones that pursue that claustrophobic, stifled, burning feeling — although there are a few that are (sometimes literally) cold, as well. let them learn to communicate! a wave reaching its crest, the point where it has to break. that said: Holster is a very different kettle of fish from many of the other characters in the comic, and I’d also love to see something that’s carefree and open, where he’s embracing an element of his sexuality, or learning to do so. also not to flagrantly project my own undergrad experience onto this comic but I’d love to hear about Samwell’s sci-fi/fantasy club and/or the Samwell marching band.

Pacific Rim: The Black-specific notes: I only just watched this show back in September, specifically because someone nominated it for Yuletide. is it good? eh, it’s fine. the characters are reasonably engaging; the narrative is moderately compelling.

what matters is: ghost PILOTING. I love ghost drifting but oh my god this is possibly an even more narratively compelling concept and the show does NOT explore the implications of it NEARLY enough (hopefully in season 2). Taylor literally can’t distinguish between his own memories and Herc’s?????? what the fuck! that’s absolutely incredible!

more generally, I’m interested in the experience of drifting: what it feels like physically, mentally, emotionally. ghost drifting but this time with a literal ghost! ghost drift sex but this time with a literal ghost! a question that’s been growing in my mind is: what does it feel like to have a Jaeger’s senses? what does it feel like when your drift session ends and you don’t have a Jaeger’s senses anymore?

I'm also, of course, interested in Taylor's relationship with the guy who was planning to leave the settlement at the beginning — there was obviously something going on there.

Stardew Valley-specific things I do not want: if by chance Alex’s relationship status comes up, I’d prefer he not be dating a woman. having said that, Shane is an exception to the "no m/f" DNW — I'm open to mentions of a straight (or "straight"/stright-acting) Shane having relationships with women as long as they're not the main focus.

Stardew Valley-specific notes: I love the general soothing vibe of the game, all the relationships in town, that it really does feel like you get to know the people in town and they get to know you. also the off-brand holidays (especially Spirit’s Eve).

I'm interested in Shane from two radically different angles. on the one hand, as the bachelor who most seems to have lived his own life prior to meeting the farmer, I like the (potential) dynamic between them as people who both have substantive histories and are meeting each other with the weight of those histories behind them. also Shane has the same taste in food that I do.

on the other hand, I'm much more shallowly also interested in Shane as straight (or straight-identifying) and (verbally) dominant/~alpha~, with a big dick, and a submissive non-straight farmer (with a small/smaller dick) — a Shane who's using the farmer, partly as a way to exert control over his own life, playing up his dominance (and being allowed/encouraged by the farmer to do so) because he's so frustrated in basically every other respect. the details of this — whether it's a one-off thing, Shane just shows up at the farmer's house sometimes exclusively for sex, they fall into a friends(? acquaintances?) with benefits pattern, or maybe Shane eventually comes to terms with some aspect of his sexuality — are up to you.

But other things are good too! I love Aribeth’s internal crisis in HotU, and it would be fun if Nathyrra causes her to realize some details of WHY she never truly loved Fenthick. I love an inexperienced PC looking up to him and making decisions things she’s slightly uncomfortable with to impress him, or responding favorably to his advances while other party members are like “oh no.” I love his repeated attempts to convince the PC to abandon her responsibilities and run off with him and would love to see that explored. I love his betrayal. I’m not even mad. Rock on, you goddamned disaster.

Gann/Knight Captain: Knight Captain deserves smutty dreams too. Also, that mind link flavor text on his influence ability?

Safiya: I love Safiya! Would adore f!Knight Captain because I’m still salty Safiya’s bisexuality got cut, but the Akechi parallels with m!Knight Captain are great too.

Safiya/Gann/Knight Captain: yesss I want them to hang out and adventure and also bang

I love Atton’s whole deal. The constant bluffing and blatant contradictions over a pile of self-hate! The way he doesn’t really expect to be taken seriously when he’s serious!

-He doesn’t react to witnessing the Exile wrestle five identical sisters in her underwear, or to being brought on the dancer outfit heist, and I think that’s a shame. Gimme.
-Some infiltration thing where the Exile is supposed to be pretending to be a slave girl and Atton’s supposed to be pretending to own her, but they get called out as behaving irregularly and Atton’s ready to abort mission but repressed horny Exile absolutely jumps on the chance to blow him (or similar) to maintain their cover
-Exile having conflicted and kind of horny feelings over his whole confession about how he used to kill and torture Jedi extremely skillfully and wondering what the fuck is wrong with her
-Atton being SFHKHGSGH over Exile indicating feelings for him, because despite how much he flirts with her I don’t believe he thinks she could actually have feelings for him in a million years, and I think that’s beautiful
-Outsider POV from other party members who have a low opinion of Atton internally derisive of Atton's obvious desire to get with the Exile (along the lines of his in-game conversation with Mira), and either failing to notice signs it's reciprocated or being mindboggled to observe them. I love the "do you understand men??" conversations with Bao-dur and Mira so I would love both Exile and Atton awkwardly seeking advice while the people they're seeking advice from are like "wtf"

Also would love dark canon divergence scenarios where he’s still a Jedi hunter when they meet as long as they don’t end in snuff or violent noncon. "Made to want it and hates that she does" scenarios would be great, as would "pushed to the verge of doubt then rescued/escaped, cannot stop thinking about him afterwards" scenarios. Or for a scenario that doesn't require as much divergence, maybe he's her very bad decision at a bar during her exile but is still dark phase Atton.

For art: I love the redheaded exile with the ponytail

Reyes/Ryder: Identity porn. Please. I would love some flirtation while Ryder is interacting with the Collective before figuring things, or something with an outsider POV full of dramatic irony. Ryder stealthily advancing the Collective's interests on the down-low? Major character death is normally a hard no for me but for this particular ship I actually love the idea of them keeping it a secret their entire lives and a posthumous reveal, so some sort of article/biography/reaction about the world finding out who the Pathfinder's lover/husband actually was would be fun. Alternately, smut since they don't get a first time in game?

I would also love some awkward accidental pregnancy fic for either of these two ships. Not heavy angst/drama, but some humor, initial conversations, or "oh shit how do we fit a baby into this setup" would be delightful. (One exception to drama: "A is a mess who puts off telling B about pregnancy for way too long because they have unfounded worries about how B will take it" is a plot I generally enjoy. And like, Peebee makes a great mess and Reyes would be a terrible person to try to hide a pregnancy from.)

I love both the contrasts and similarities between these two--Liu Yee is just openly an asshole, but the people he does care about he cares about a lot (though he shows it in weird ways), while Atsuki puts on a good front when undercover but is actually a complete mess underneath, and just as afraid of getting close to people. Both of them have lost people they cared about, and it's warped both of them in interesting ways. Liu Yee's protectiveness is great, as is his insistence that Atsuki should let him "handle the dirty stuff." Meanwhile Atsuki actually thinks of himself as a demon and a living weapon. Hurt/comfort, reluctant feelings, further adventures that bring them closer, it's all good. I'm open to fic of all ratings.

While I do love the canon worldbuilding, I could also be open to an AU as long as it retains some sort of fantasy or science fiction tone, and as long as the character relationships and personalities are kept intact.

I'd be interested in omething set in the past (especially but not exclusively as their relationship is starting to fall apart), something set during the series, something set after the series--anything. If you want to tackle the challenge of patching some of the truck-sized holes in plot and characterisation from the series, I would definitely not say no, but I would be equally pleased to see some PWP Cain/Shido. I love the contrast between Cain's very open desires and unabashed embracing of being a vampire, and Shido's inner conflict and anger. I love Cain's creepy obsession and that Shido hates what Cain stands for but can't quite forget and move on from the personal side of their relationship. I emphatically do not ship Shido/Riho, though I like her just fine as a character. I'm very much open to blood-drinking, and fic of all ratings; dubcon/noncon is of course fine for this pairing.

I love everything about these two. I love Ye You's scheming and brilliance, his utter shamelessness, but also his loyalty to the people who deserve it and ruthlessness against his enemies. Wenren Heng's loyalty and casual willingness to just roll with whatever the heck Ye You is planning are so great, as are his possessiveness and equally shameless enjoyment of Ye You's more ridiculous behaviours. Missing scenes from any point in the canon would be nice, or I'd love to see post-canon fic. What does happily ever after look like for these two? Does Ye You eventually get bored with no more grand plan to carry out? Do they go on adventures? Does Ye You still gleefully cause trouble for the "righteous" sects while Wenren Heng shrugs and laughs at anyone who thinks he can (or would want to) rein his husband in? I also like Xie Junming and Ren Shaotian quite a lot, and would welcome cameos. I'm open to fic of all ratings, but if you do include sexual content I strongly prefer top!Wenren Heng and shameless pillow princess!Ye You.

I've read the book and all extras, and I've seen the donghua as well. I'm mostly interested in fic set after Xie Lian meets Hua Cheng (as opposed to any of his previous forms), though flashbacks to earlier periods are welcome. Hua Cheng's intense devotion is like catnip to me; I love how shameless he is most of the time, but also how awkward he gets about the really OTT things like the Cave of Ten Thousand Gods. I love Xie Lian's everything. I love how close he came to completely falling into darkness, and how in the end it's made him kinder and left him almost completely unflappable (until he meets Hua Cheng). I love his stubborn determination to run right back into danger even when Hua Cheng has tried to shield him from it or plucked him out of it. Hurt/comfort would definitely be great, or just any kind of further adventures. For smut I really only like top!Hua Cheng (no switching). Everything the extras imply about their sex life is fantastic by me--Xie Lian covered in hickeys, too sore to walk properly the next day, held down and dying of embarrassment but loving every minute of it, deflowered on his own altar, basically just getting completely wrecked by Hua Cheng and thoroughly enjoying it.
