 Happy new year! Let's do signups!

You can find the signup form here. You need a minimum of 3 fandoms to request and 4 to offer, and up to ten for requests and offers. You also need to choose whether you want fanfic, fanart, or you would like either of them. Here is the tagset. If you cannot find your fandom, please look in "Unassigned Fandoms". 

Requests are currently visible but you are free to edit your signup until 11:59pm EST on 7 January 2016. I may be a little late in closing signups, but please do not rely on this.

A reminder:

• Character A & Character B = genfic
• Character A/Character B = shipfic.

Please do not mix these two up!

There are still 18 character combinations that have not been assigned because it was unclear where they went. Please look at this post for an explanation as to what is going on. If someone tells me where these ships should go between now and when signups close, I will do a post telling people where to find these new tags, so that requests and offers can be adjusted.

Now all that's out of the way, let's do signups! I look forward to seeing what you request.

Missing Tags

I'm really excited about this! But I think that some of the tags are missing when I try to sign up? For example, there is the Stinger Apini/Aleksa Jones tag in the tag set, but it doesn't come up when I try to put it in my sign up. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it like with the Yuletide issue, where if you writing the relationship in with the exact wording, it'll come up in your sign up?

It is exactly like the Yuletide issue, I'm afraid. So long as you write the relationship in with the exact wording (or copy and paste it from the tagset), it will come up in your sign up.

I'm trying to sign up but something has gone weirdly wrong. I've put in 4 requests, each with multiple pairings but I'm getting the error "Request: Your Request must include between 3 and 10 fandom tags, but you have included 1 fandom tags in your current Request." It's like it wants all the requests in one request box?

I am doing my sign-up at the moment, but I can't find an option to offer "all" or "any" ships within a given fandom tagset. For the moment, I will just pick twenty pairings to offer, and go back to edit it later, if this gets fixed up.

There are 113 ships within the Harry Potter fandom, for example, and I really am happy to try my hand at any one of them. That has got to make matching easier than just picking 20 favourites.

I had initially disabled "any" due to some of the fandom tag lists being well, very large! I've since put "any" back in for offers only.

What about fandoms where only one pairing was nominated?

I've now added "any", so if only one pairing was nominated, "any" is your option. I hope that helps!

I'm getting this error on every request and offer:

"Request: Your Request must include between 1 and 20 character tags, but you have included 0 character tags in your current Request.Request: Your Request cannot include any relationship tags, but you have included (4) "

There's a snafu in my sign up. It says I have to offer 2 or more pairings but in two of the Fandoms there is only one pairing. How does this work?

I noticed that there's a duplicate in the tagset. Under Stargate - All Series, there's:

Sam Carter/Jack O'Neill
Sam Carter/Jack O'Neill (SG1)

I've taken out Sam Carter/Jack O'Neill (SG1) and contacted the participants who have used that tag. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

A little issue here? One of my fandoms only has *ONE* relationship nominated, so I can't even offer it. Because the form demands at least two relationship tags, and, well, only one *exists*.

(This also prevented me from offering in two other fandoms, where I would only feel comfortable writing one of the relationships nominated by other people. In effect, the two-tag minimum has cut the number of offers I could make nearly in half.)

May I know if you would consider allowing us to use two slots for the same fandom?

In my case, it's the Star Wars (movies) fandom I'm interested in - I'm trying to split my prompts into before-TFA and post-TFA, given that there would be people who haven't seen the newest movie, and who would probably be leaning towards a completely different set of characters.

Also, I'm trying to request/offer for more than 20 relationships in this case, given that there are 76 relationships in the tagset spanning four generations.

Unfortunately I can't do that this year. Once participants have signed up to an exchange, the mod console disables any amendment of the form including to allow more than 20 ships or allowing duplicate fandoms.

I can certainly consider it for next year!

Is there any reason we have to offer at least two pairings per fandom? I only have one ship in most of my fandoms, and I'm sure I'm not the only potential participant who's not a multi-shipper. I'm already matchable with several people from current signups, but I'm not sure I'll even be able to participate if I have to offer two pairings per fandom.

I can try to juggle signups, offer a pairing nobody requested for each fandom, but it seems like an awful lot of hassle. And I'll probably have to unoffer some fandoms I could write for if I can't find an unrequested pairing to offer. Doesn't it just make matching harder if a lot of people can't offer fandoms they could write because they can't write two ships for those fandoms?

Wouldn't it be possible to change the sign-up form to allow people to sign up with only one pairing per fandom?

Some people is offering both the gen and romantic version of the same configuration of characters, example: Clark Kent/Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent & Bruce Wayne. Try checking if some of your ships are in the tag set both as gen and romantic?

Mod, I want to sign up but I haven't an AO3 account yet. I've just requested an invitation but it says I have to wait as long as the 7th before they'll get back to me, that is the day the sign ups close. :( What hour in the day have you scheduled to close the signups?

I think one of the problems with people who are worried about having to offer more than one pairing is that they didn't read the rules beforehand, possibly because the link to the ao3 comm wasn't very visible beforehand? There was only one tiny link in the first post, and it's not on the profile page either. I think next time you could make it more visible by posting it in the comm profile and also having a post with great big links to it, possibly while highlighting some of the more important signup rules too ^^

I'm trying to fill out my requests for Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas, but the form is saying the "Aquarius Dégel & Scorpio Kardia" tag doesn't exist for the exchange (and thus won't save my form if I leave it in) even though it's right there in the tagset.

Is there any way to fix it or add it manually? D:

That is very strange, as I had no problems doing a fake signup for me with Aquarius Dégel & Scorpio Kardia just now. If you are copying it from the tag set and it is giving you an error message, that's a problem with AO3, I think, and you'd have to raise it with them. I'm not able to edit signups while signups are ongoing, though I might be able to once signups close. If you have no luck with AO3 sorting out what's going on, shoot me an email and I'll see what I can do.

Hi, I don't know if it's some kind of glitch, but it looks like boywonder has signed up twice.

Yes, that's a known AO3 bug. I'll be going through signups after they close and remove any duplicates.
