Tagset vetting - outstanding issues

 There are currently two outstanding issues:

• DC: Is this how you would like your tags split up?
• Tolkien: there are 18 relationships down the bottom under "Unassociated Characters and Relationships".  If a character combination has (Unknown) next to it, it means that there are multiple places this nomination could go and and I'd like some clarification as to which place you want it. If a character combination has (Crossover) next to it, it means that each character appears in different places in the Tolkienverse (for lack of a better word) and so I'm seeking clarification as to which book you want it associated with.

Other than that, I've worked through the backlog, so bring on your tag corrections! I'm ready.

Also:

• I'm increasing the maximum number of requests and offers to 10. This may delay when assignments go out depending on how many people sign up, but we'll burn that bridge when we get there.
• Requests will be visible during signups.
• I haven't decided whether to do a letter post or simply to do a textfile of all requests once signups close, given that requests will be visible during the signup process.

EDIT: If you are the nominator of Eobard Thawne/Barry Allen or John Stewart & Wally West, where would you like them to go?

Just as a point on the DC list you've linked: there are some pairings in the tagset that are not in that list. For example, I don't see Bart Allen/Tim Drake/Kon-El | Conner Kent, Dick Grayson/Roy Harper, or Koriand'r/Donna Troy in it anywhere, but they're in the tagset under DCU. (Also, while they are not my nominations (mine are in that list under comics, which is what I intended when nominating) I do know who nominated them, so they're not just mysteriously in the tagset with no nominator.)

Do you know where they would like them? I'm assuming that they'd have to be comics, but I'd like to be sure.

My current plan is to associate as many as I can, and then query the ones that do not have an assignment once the DCU tag is gone and the others are assigned. Though if you spot any that are not already allocated and know where they go, that would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, comics is correct. I think Barbara Gordon/Dinah Lance is theirs, too, but asking to be sure.

I sent them a text linking the Tagset Vetting post, but they have limited Internet right now due to the holidays, so I don't know how easy it will be for them to comment. But hopefully it'll happen.

Maybe do a letter post? Some of the fandoms have lots of pairings, and if people leave a couple prompts for every pairing they request, it's going to take quite a bit of space.

I prefer letter posts, so I can see what people are requesting during sign-ups and potentially add offers.

Requests will be public, so seeing requests won't be a problem. But I agree would prefer to have a letter post.

Depending on how many signups there are, there can be a lot of pages of requests to go through, and I think it's easier to find letters in one place.

I'd rather have a letter post, if that's not too much trouble. I'd rather use that to go through requests where there are a lot of fandoms or relationships.

I'll add another vote to having a letter post - personally, it's easier & faster to skim through a letter post than it is for me to navigate AO3's request aggregate.

Sorry, but what do you mean by 'a textfile of all requests'? ^^; I'd probably vote for a letter post though, I like browsing through people's letters and it would be easier than going through all the signups on ao3, since probably not everyone is going to write a letter.

A text file of all requests is when, after signups, I go through and collect all of the requests and put them into a searchable text file. That way you can search through the text file for a particular fandom. It's what Yuletide did this year, if you participated in that.

Under "Teeth - Lady Gaga (Music Video)" I think whoever nominated it accidentally put the characters individually rather than as a pairing. It should probably be "Vampire/Vampire Hunter (Teeth - Lady Gaga)".

For the Tolkien pairings, there is a category TOLKIEN J. R. R. - Works & Related Fandoms, would that work as a catch-all where things aren't all that clear?

I don't know if this is possible, but someone just alerted to me that I had nominate the wrong character in one of my noms. In the MASH fandom, I nommed Erin Hunnicutt/B. J. Hunnicutt instead of Peg Hunnicutt/B. J. Hunnicutt. This is sort of huge as Erin is B.J.'s baby daughter. NOT what I meant at all...

If you could change that would be awesome. If not, no worries, I just hope no one uses that tag. :(
