Happy new year (or close enough to it to count!), dear Chocolatiers! Welcome to signups!

You can find the signup form here. You need a minimum of 3 fandoms to request and 4 to offer, at least one relationship for each fandom to request and two to offer, and up to ten for requests and offers. You also need to choose whether you want fanfic, fanart, or you would like either of them. Here is the tagset. If you cannot find your fandom, please look in "Uncategorized Fandoms". If you are offering a fandom with only one ship nominated, you need to tick the "Any" checkbox for that fandom.

Requests are currently visible but you are free to edit your signup until 11:59pm EST on 7 January 2019. We may be a little late in closing signups, but please do not rely on this.

A reminder:

• Character A & Character B = genfic
• Character A/Character B = shipfic.

Please do not mix these two up!

Also, as a reminder, please be careful about which tag you use, especially when there are characters with very similar names!

I'm having trouble offering a fandom which only had 1 relationship in the tagset. There doesn't appear to be a way to offer "any," so I am getting this error message: "Offer: Your Offer must include between 2 and 20 relationship tags, but you have included 1 relationship tags in your current Offer."

I can't seem to find "Arwen Undómiel/Tauriel (Hobbit Movies) (STAY PUT)" in the tag set, even though it's marked as approved in my nominations... help, if possible?

Our records indicate that it was nominated in the Hobbit Movies, and when we were informed that Arwen didn't appear in the Hobbit movies we took it out (here!). If it was nominated as a crossover, let us know and we can insert it back in.

The sign-ups are doing that thing where it's letting people put any relationship in with any fandom.

I'm seeing alexisriversong with crossovers under Venom, ACD and Elementary under Sherlock (TV).

Thanks for letting us know! We've fixed that on the admin side and we'll remind people that they can only use the relationships associated with each fandom.

Hello! Would it be possible to clarify somewhere that the exchange is OR matching, and people are only guaranteed to match on one of their requested / or & tags? I've seen a couple signups that seem to be assuming this is AND matching and their author will have offered all of their ships.

I've been assuming everything's still OR matching, but the FAQ on AO3 doesn't seem to clarify whether or not that's the case. Sorry if this is a bother, but I figured it'd be better to mention now, while people have time to shift requests if needed. Thanks!

Yes I noticed some of the same. Personally I'm pretty open to a lot of prompts and characters, but this could not work as well with other gifters.

I have a question about making requests/offering Original Works - there are over 500 tags in the set for this "fandom" - can I list Original Work multiple times in my signup form?

I’m afraid not! All fandoms in a set of requests (or a set of offers) must be unique.

Is there a reason we have to offer 2 or more ships within a fandom?

There is a fandom I'm interested in writing for. Three of the four nominated relationships are out of my comfort zone, but here is one that I'd really like to write. Since it's already possible to nominate a fandom with just one pairing (so presumably there will be lots of offers with just one pairing in the offer), wouldn't it make sense to allow any offers to have only one pairing?

Yes, there is a reason for it. It's to increase matchability across the board so that we have fewer initial pinch hits and fewer people having to amend their offers so that they can match to people. Given the size of the exchange, this can really only be done with at least two relationships being offered per fandom.

No problem! We really have considered running it with one relationship per fandom (as I think last year was the only time we weren't asked this question) but we just can't.
