Happy new year, dear chocolatiers! Welcome to signups!

You can find the signup form here. You need a minimum of 3 fandoms to request and 4 to offer, at least one relationship for each fandom to request and two to offer, and up to ten for requests and offers. You also need to choose whether you want fanfic, fanart, or you would like either of them. Here is the tagset. If you cannot find your fandom, please look in "Unassigned Fandoms". If you are offering a fandom with only one ship nominated, you need to tick the "Any" checkbox for that fandom.

Requests are currently visible but you are free to edit your signup until 11:59pm EST on 7 January 2018. I may be a little late in closing signups, but please do not rely on this.

A reminder:

Character A & Character B = genfic
Character A/Character B = shipfic.

Please do not mix these two up!

There have also been some rule changes. They are the following:

It is against the rules for a person to sign up to this exchange with multiple accounts; and
If you do not turn in your assignment or hit the default button by the time the due time passes, you are required to complete your assignment before being allowed to sign up to future years of Chocolate Box.

It may be the lingering flu, but I'm not clear on some things, so for future reference and POSSIBLY this time around:

- I can still sign up until Jan 7th even if I didn't nominate something prior?

- Are signups limited to the characters/pairings listed in the community tags? (If so, I'll be sure to get in during the nominations next time.)

- Request/offer: I say "I'd like one of these and am willing to do one of these", and they're randomly assigned?

Not a problem!

1) You can sign up until January 7th even if you didn't nominate anything. In fact, most people participate without nominating tags at all!

2) Signups are limited to the pairings listed in the tagset for this year.

3) Sort of! You're right in that requests are you saying what you would like, and offers are saying what you are willing to create works for. Matching is done randomly to the extent that a person who matches to you must have offered the fandom, relationship tag, and media type you requested, and vice versa.

A question re offers: As long as we have four unique fandoms listed, can we double up on fandoms if we want to offer fic/art for different ships?

Like if I have a fandom where I could confidently offer art for 20 ships but could only confidently offer fic for two, can I put that on my signup twice (so an art offer for the 20 and a separate fic offer for the two), or would I just need to pick one way or the other (only offer the two ships, or only offer art)?

I no-showed last year. (I'm really sorry about that--I thought the due date was different than when it actually was.) Can I still participate this year? You said that these were rule changes in this post, so I'm hoping that it didn't apply to last year and I can still sign up.

Where is the best place to ask questions about error messages in the sign-up form? When I try to submit my form, the message "Your Offer must include between 2 and 20 relationship tags, but you have included 1 relationship tags in your current Offer" comes up for a few of my entries. However, I have included multiple relationship tags for these offers, so I am not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm happy to send along more specifics through another channel.

What if there IS only one relationship listed for that fandom? How could I offer "at least two"? Will that cause some kind of hiccup in the sign-up form if I only offer one (being the only option) relationship?

Hi mod!

I noticed a discrepancy between a participant's AO3 sign up and their letter that you might want to look into. More information about the problem as follows:

DW username: bravebow
AO3 username: brella
Fandom: Persona 5
Issue: This participant's AO3 sign up says that they would like to receive both fanfic and fanart for this fandom; however, their letter says that they would like to receive only fanfic.

In addition to being confusing, I worry that this discrepancy could cause problems with matching (e.g. an artist being assigned to someone who only wants fic). I was hoping you could ask the participant to double check their letter and clarify their desired media types.

FannyT appears to be misusing "Any Relationship" in their Killjoys request. They request Any Relationship, but their signup detail says only

I would love anything exploring Alvis, Scarbacks and their role within society.

Only 3 out of the 18 relationships nominated for Killjoys involve Alvis (or Scarbacks).

Optional details are optional, so maybe it doesn't matter, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

ackermanx appears to be misusing "Any Relationship" in their Fire Emblem Echoes signup. They've requested Any, but in their optional details say that they don't want Genny/Saber or Berkut/Rinea, both of which are in the tagset.
