 Wow, you guys are really enthusiastic! I did not expect so many tags so soon! Tag set approval may slow down as AO3 seems to give me a time-out error message every time I try to approve tags, so that's inconvenient.

On that note, if you are nominating a ship that may be associated with multiple fandoms, please nominate it as Character A & Character B (Fandom Name) or Character A/Character B (Fandom Name). It will help me out a lot and mean that I spend less time in the mod console and more time approving tags.

At the moment, I have questions about the following:

• Doctor Who: There are three different nominations for Doctor Who: Doctor Who; Doctor Who (1963); and Doctor Who (2005). Would you prefer the Doctor Who nominations to be under one heading ("Doctor Who") or split into Classic and New Who ("Doctor Who (1963)" and "Doctor Who (2005)")? 
• Torchwood: Separate nomination to Doctor Who, or should it be part of the Doctor Who umbrella?
• Dragon Age: So far I have seen two separate ways of nominating: Dragon Age - All Media Types; and Dragon Age - Inquisition. My preference is for Dragon Age - AMT, given that there are a lot of characters who appear in multiple games, books, etc.  I am interested in hearing discussion about this though!
• HOBB, Robin - Works: The characters nominated under this header seem to belong to the trilogies focusing on Fitz and the Fool. Is this the tag you want or is there a more appropriate fandom tag?
• Breaking Bad: There is a nomination for Will Graham & Jesse Pinkman. Is Will Graham really the character you meant here? 
• Fate universe: How do you want this fandom nominated? As Fate/Stay Night and Related Fandoms, Fate/Zero, Fate/Extra etc etc, or is there a generic fandom header that you'd want to use? Or something different entirely?
• Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel the Series - currently these two series are nominated as one. Is there any preference about keeping them together or apart?
• American Horror Story: Should these be nominated under "American Horror Story" or "American Horror Story: Freakshow", "American Horror Story: Asylum" etc etc.?
• The Vampire Diaries and The Originals: My understanding is that these are spin-offs of each other. Is your preference to keep these nominations separate or together?
• Cesare Borgia & Rodrigo Borgia: what fandom does this belong to?
• Female Zee Captain/ Brisk Campaigner: what fandom does this belong to?
• Laure Berthaud & François Roban: what fandom does this belong to?

Also, if there are any mistakes in the tagset currently, please let me know!

Given that the format of the fest allows us to include and exclude specific pairings in our offers and requests, I would suggest including New Who, Classic Who, and Torchwood under "Doctor Who & Related Fandoms", or similar. This allows people interested in all three to offer/request more fandoms, which should allow for easier matching, but doesn't require anyone to write characters that they are not familiar with.

Same logic applies to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel the Series". (Although as I said when I nominated this, I am happy to go with whatever suits the most people.)

Not the nominator, but I believe that "Cesare Borgia & Rodrigo Borgia" belongs in "The Borgias (2011)", along with "Rodrigo Borgia & Ascanio Sforza" and "Cesare Borgia/Micheletto Corella".

There are two duplicate ships in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel the Series":

oh oh, I didn't nominate it, but I know the last one! "Laure Berthaud & François Roban" belongs to "Engrenages | Spiral".

Also, I have a question. One of my nominations was Star Wars and I nominated my pairings as "Star Wars Original Trilogy" when there was already a "Star Wars VII" (the new movie). There were some overlapping pairings and I did them as "[pairing] (fandom)". But they are actually the same characters and exist within the same universe. Should they all be under the same umbrella heading? (I lean "yes" personally, but then there's also the Star Wars extended universe, Clone Wars, etc, which is separate from the movies ...)

I honestly don't know, as Star Wars is not my fandom. Is there a convention for how the fandom itself deals with this kind of thing?

Also, "Ctrl+F" suggests that "Female Zee Captain/ Brisk Campaigner" belongs in "Sunless Sea", as it contains several other pairings that include "Female Zee Captain".

I nominated The Vampire Diaries (TV) and I will prefer for it to remain separate from The Originals - apart from a few crossover characters, there's very little overlap between both series, and most of the nominated ships are TVD specific.

I have an additional question: I noticed that there is a nomination for The Vampire Diaries - L. J. Smith. Can we confirm if the book series is indeed what the nominator meant? The reason why I ask this is that there's a character (Rebekah Mikaelson) in there that's TV series only, and also other ships that make sense only in the TV series, since the books and TV series diverge pretty significantly from each other.

I am not the nominator, but i can confirm that Female Zee Captain/ Brisk Campaigner belongs to Sunless Sea.

Ack, I'm really sorry about the migration. I didn't know it would do that. I nominated a couple of A Song of Ice and Fire ships and they're now showing up under both that and Game of Thrones. I intended books-only, though.

I nominated Dragon Age under Dragon Age - All Media Types, mostly because I misread a comment on the best way to nominate, haha! Most of the pairings I nominated were not from Dragon Age - Inquisition, and most of the characters don't appear in that game at all. I like the AMT tag best but would be happy to edit my nomination if others prefer dividing things by game.

I nominated the Robin Hobb characters and left it in the general works tag so people can pick whichever trilogy they wanted, but if you would like to sort them into one collection of books, The Tawny Man Trilogy would be the best since it is the most recent complete collection.

Yeah, it's complicated. The actual series is called Realms of the Elderlings, but I don't know anyone who actually calls it that! (Plus that series contains lots of characters who don't appear together...)

(I would be happy with it being called Tawny Man trilogy, though - I would probably want to specify whether the other books with these characters are fair game!)

I'm trying to nominate characters from the Transformers franchise, who may have vastly different relationships based on which series they're in. You seem to be lumping everything in the same franchise together as the same fandom, such as with Dragon Age and Doctor Who. Is the correct way to handle this to nominate them all under the Transformers AMT fandom and disambiguate in the relationship tag, then, or should I nominate them as separate fandoms? Thank you!

What I'm really interested in is making the tagset reflect how the fandoms themselves treat each fandom and the quirks for each. What is the correct way for the Transformers franchise to be nominated?

Hi! I'm having trouble with the nominations form. I'd already nominated three fandoms, and was going to add another two, but the form won't save because in one of the fandoms, there's a mistake with the approved relationships.

I nominated:

So, the same relationship as / and as &, only shortened once because there's a character limit.

Unfortunately they were both approved as the same relationship (the / version). So now the same relationship is in there twice, so the form won't save when I try to add more fandoms. Is there anything you can do to solve this?

Something like this happened on another exchange once and it was so frustrating! My understanding is that there's nothing you or the mod can do. If you wish, you can list your other fandoms here, I think I have some fandom slots left so I can submit some ships for you.

I nominated Will and Jesse :D Will is from Hannibal, but I saw him on the list when I typed in Jesse and got really excited for crossover potential (two of my three rats are named Will Graham and Jesse Pinkman haha!) - I may not have done that right though.

I'm nominating 'Gundam SEED & Cosmic Era Gundam' to cover Gundam SEED, Gundam SEED Destiny, Gundam SEED Astray and any of the other related manga, novels, games, etc. It's all one universe but AO3 has various sub-series synned/disambiguated oddly and sometimes incorrectly.

Hi, popping in to note a sorting problem ... well, a 'problem' because AO3 insists in lumping some series together. All of my nominations for Gundam Wing Frozen Teardrop have been synned to (the already-approved) Gundam Wing category.

With FT being a novel series set in that universe's future some decades on, with characters aged/changed/many new additions to the cast, this is really not particularly accurate -- and if the person who nominated the actual Gundam Wing character combos was hoping to offer/request "Any", this is going to make things kind of messy >.>;;

Is there a possibility of untangling the two series ..?
