This fandom is maybe my favorite new discovery of 2019! I love the whole worldbuilding there, and Rune is such an awesome main character, I love him! I ship Rune/Addam (they're perfect for each other) and I adore Rune & Brand (their banter, their quibbling, their deep friendship when it counts). So, basically, I'd love anything set in that world, whether it's an adventure or just an everyday scene - anything!

Dark Star Trilogy - Marlon James

What I'm looking for here: The whole messed-up relationship between Tracker and the Leopard. They're not quite a couple, they just react insanely jealous of each other's partners, and to make things more difficult, Tracker is lying the whole time while telling their story... And even lies about which lies he told to others. (Which, I'd say, makes him the least reliable narrator ever.) I'm perfectly fine with any other characters appearing as side characters.
I'm not looking for (obvious) romance or even smut here, I'm interested in character interaction in this fandom. Still, any rating is fine - an in-character conversation between Tracker and the Leopard would likely have to be rated as "explicit" anyway even though, technically, they're not having sex.
Whether you want to make it Tracker's POV or maybe switch to the Leopard's (it would be interesting to find out what lies he has to tell!), or a third-party narrator, or do something entirely else, is entirely up to you! Each would be fascinating.
(A note about canon: technically, only one of the books of this planned trilogy is out yet. That's okay, I just nommed the whole fandom under the series name, Dark Star, because you, dear author, would be the first one to write fic for this on AO3, and I suppose the fandom name should not just be the title of book 1, Black Leopard Red Wolf.)

Nibelungenlied
Hagen of Tronje/Volker of Alzey (Nibelungenlied), Fanfiction, Fanart
They're both such fascinating personalities - so basically, you could take any scene from canon that features both of them... and elaborate. Why does Hagen ignore all the warnings he receives on the way? Why is Volker's fiddle play so... effective? I'm perfectly fine with any other characters appearing as side characters.
And yeah, I ship Hagen/Volker. In fact, I remember reading the Nibelungenlied for the very first time (in a translation into modern High German) when I was, like, 8 or something - and I asked my (very surprised) mother something along the lines of "they're gay, right?" - and I was just recently reminded of that by reading a scholarly publication about the Nibelungenlied which also discussed the homoerotic subtext regarding Volker and Hagen, which means it wasn't only my imagination.
(Additional note in case you want to write smut: I'm fine with any rating. But I'm actually more interested in character interaction than smut in this fandom, so I guess smut-as-characterization would be appreciated in that case?)
Some more interesting material you could focus on: for example, why does all the weird supernatural stuff always happen to Hagen? According to some sources, his farther is a Schwarzalb (dark elf), does that have anything to do with his unusual encounters? Why does he knowingly travel towards his doom although he's sufficiently been warned? And how does Volker deal with that - does he notice anything odd or is he entirely oblivious? Also: it fascinates me how the author poetically equates art (Volker's music) and extreme brutality (as Volker is usually the first to start the violence, and dreadfully efficient at it, too). Sometimes it's even (intentionally) grammatically ambiguous whether Volker just decapitated smeone with his fiddle bow or whether he used his sword. You could always explore that further.
A note about canon: If you decide to write for this, if you want, you can also use canon from the Edda, the Þiðrekssaga and other old accounts of the same story. (They all overlap anyway - and actually, crossovers with German and Norse mythologies would be really hard to avoid even if you tried. Fortunately, you don't have to.) It's really up to you how you want to treat the canon. I'd appreciate something pre-canon, a missing scene, canon divergergence, alternate endings as well as AU fic changing the whole setting. (IN SPACE, maybe? Or what if the characters are players of a MMORPG - or the characters that are being played?)

Inanna/Ninshubur (Mesopotamian Mythology)
Let Inanna being her trickster-y self. I like that, despite being a love goddess, she's not always nice. She's confident, she's power-obsessed and uses any means to attain her goals. Something related to Inanna's descent to the underworld, maybe? :) Ninshubur is Inanna's second-in-command and the one who not only genuinely grieves for Inanna but also takes action to get Inanna released. Inanna, in return, seems to favor Ninshubur over her own husband. So, it would be interesting to see shipfic for these two! AU is also fine.

I've always liked the interaction of Odin and Loki; they're surprisingly close for sort-of-enemies - and not even all that different from each other (Odin is a trickster god himself, so I guess they understand each other!) - yet end up on different sides. It would be interesting to see their love/hate played out some more. I can see them mutually trying to outwit each other. Whether you want to keep it gen or to write shipfic is entirely up to you, here!

- Trickstery trickster-ness. Loki being his trickster-archetypical self; Odin being also trickstery, just not so in-your-face about it.
- I've always liked the story of how Odin gained knowledge of the runes. Tell me an alternate version of that story, one in which Loki interferes.
- I don't think there's a source that plausibly explains why and how Loki and Odin became blood brothers. You could tell me your version of that story!
- AU fic would also be appreciated. Can be mundane, can be IN SPACE, can be characters living in a computer simulation, can be really weird. Basically, if you have an idea that you think might be fun to write (or draw), go for it!

Actually, as a child, I used to be kind of obsessed with Alexander the Great - that's what got me interested in military strategy and tactics in the first place. Soooo, I'd be extra-happy if you decide to include not only the requested ship (although that's great and you can easily go into PWP territory there, no problem) but also war strategy and, as a side-note, world-domination plans... I'm more interested in the sprit of the thing than in historical accuracy (and I'd even be fine with a Fantasy or Sci-Fi AU), but... Heh.

- Alexander's military campaigns and the political situation at the time give lots of interesting story prompts, I believe.
- What do these guys talk about the evening before an important battle?
- Alexander had the reputation of having a bit of a temper. How does Hephaistion deal with that?
- Also, Hephaistion was occasionally sent on special missions requiring tact and/or particular, uh, efficiency. (Seems like the guy Got Things Done...) You can tell me the story of one of those.
- Alternately, you can just write an everyday scene... Well, as everyday as possible for two guys busy with conquering the world, anyway.

For all of these prompts, the gender of characters is entirely up to you. My recent reading is mostly M/M but that might be coincidence. I also like F/M and F/F and any other expression of gender. About the prompts involving demons and/or dark magic: all right, so I have a bit of a demon kink. This can go several ways, from a demon seducing the human to a human trying to summon a demon... I should probably mention that in demon characters I prefer "grey morality" or "alternative idea of morals" to "irredeemably evil" - it's just so much more interesting. Also, the morality of the human part of this equation is totally up to you - could be a dark mage, could be a perfectly innocent regular person. Who is the human character anyway and what are their motivations? And what kind of person is the demon? (I'm very interested in the interactions of characters with differing moral systems; you can have fun with that for example in Light Mage/Dark Mage.) It's up to you whether you want to write (possibly dark) romance, a character study, gothic/horror, an adventure story (with some sexual tension and/or romance on the side) or smut. (I prefer the demon mostly-human-looking although some fantasy attributes - like horns or wings or claws - are okay. In fact, wings are great. Is wing kink a thing? Just no overall animal/monster shape.) You can even go the crackfic route with the PhD thesis thing. (Though of course I'd also love that played straight!)
About the prompts involving deities: Generally, I love the concepts of deities interacting with humans. What kind of god is it, and what kind of human do they fall for? Is the human their most ardent worshipper, or just the opposite, someone who challenges them? (Maybe even an atheist?) I should probably mention that my favorite deities are usually those with trickster attributes (in that case: who's outsmarting whom?), or death deities, though that's not a must. Alternately, I'd also love to read about a scene of worship, ritual and/or an answered prayer. Basically, I'll love any kind of romance (or, indeed, smut) between a deity and a human. The worldbuilding is entirely up to you; I'll appreciate the classical fantasy/(pseudo-)historical trope just as much as more unusual settings. I'd love a detailed description of the (fictional) religion, the temple or wherever your story takes place. In case you want to write a sex scene, please let the deity appear in mostly-humanoid shape, although, obviously, some "fantasy" attributes are fine. You can give me some ritual sex and/or sex magic, it's all wonderful! :)
Scientist/Wizard (Original Work)
Two characters with a very different outlook on life, I'd assume. Are they enemies? Rivals? Reluctant allies? Either way, I'd love to see some romance between them. :)
General/General of opposing army (Original Work)

I like all the usual tropes associated with those prompts - 'Enemies to Lovers', 'Rivals to Lovers', 'Rivals staying Rivals but having some fun on the way', and so on. The nature of their rivalry is up to you. Some ideas: Opponents at a game? Adventurers who are after the same goal? Scientists trying to solve the same problem? Your choice whether you want to write about a rivalry with just a bit of romance or sexual tension or... smut. Or anything in between, really. Also, it's entirely up to you what kind of setting you want to use for this. (My usual preferences are fantasy, historical (or pseudo-historical) and science fiction settings but I can easily be persuaded to read anything else as well!) If you go the military route and write General/General, I'd also love some actual tactics and/or strategies in the fic.
Musician/Dancer with magical powers (Original Work)
This is your opportunity to write lavish descriptions of music, dance and magic! :) Bonus points if the musician plays the piano or the harp - but I'm not picky.

This fandom is maybe my favorite new discovery of 2019! I love the whole worldbuilding there, and Rune is such an awesome main character, I love him! I ship Rune/Addam (they're perfect for each other) and I adore Rune & Brand (their banter, their quibbling, their deep friendship when it counts). So, basically, I'd love anything set in that world, whether it's an adventure or just an everyday scene - anything!
Some possible prompts:
- Casefic involving Rune's and Brand's "job".

What I'm looking for here: The whole messed-up relationship between Tracker and the Leopard. They're not quite a couple, they just react insanely jealous of each other's partners, and to make things more difficult, Tracker is lying the whole time while telling their story... And even lies about which lies he told to others. (Which, I'd say, makes him the least reliable narrator ever.) I'm perfectly fine with any other characters appearing as side characters.
I'm not looking for (obvious) romance or even smut here, I'm interested in character interaction in this fandom. Still, any rating is fine - an in-character conversation between Tracker and the Leopard would likely have to be rated as "explicit" anyway even though, technically, they're not having sex.
Whether you want to make it Tracker's POV or maybe switch to the Leopard's (it would be interesting to find out what lies he has to tell!), or a third-party narrator, or do something entirely else, is entirely up to you! Each would be fascinating.
(A note about canon: technically, only one of the books of this planned trilogy is out yet. That's okay, I just nommed the whole fandom under the series name, Dark Star, because you, dear author, would be the first one to write fic for this on AO3, and I suppose the fandom name should not just be the title of book 1, Black Leopard Red Wolf.)

Nibelungenlied
Hagen of Tronje/Volker of Alzey (Nibelungenlied), Fanfiction, Fanart
They're both such fascinating personalities - so basically, you could take any scene from canon that features both of them... and elaborate. Why does Hagen ignore all the warnings he receives on the way? Why is Volker's fiddle play so... effective? I'm perfectly fine with any other characters appearing as side characters.
And yeah, I ship Hagen/Volker. In fact, I remember reading the Nibelungenlied for the very first time (in a translation into modern High German) when I was, like, 8 or something - and I asked my (very surprised) mother something along the lines of "they're gay, right?" - and I was just recently reminded of that by reading a scholarly publication about the Nibelungenlied which also discussed the homoerotic subtext regarding Volker and Hagen, which means it wasn't only my imagination.
(Additional note in case you want to write smut: I'm fine with any rating. But I'm actually more interested in character interaction than smut in this fandom, so I guess smut-as-characterization would be appreciated in that case?)
Some more interesting material you could focus on: for example, why does all the weird supernatural stuff always happen to Hagen? According to some sources, his farther is a Schwarzalb (dark elf), does that have anything to do with his unusual encounters? Why does he knowingly travel towards his doom although he's sufficiently been warned? And how does Volker deal with that - does he notice anything odd or is he entirely oblivious? Also: it fascinates me how the author poetically equates art (Volker's music) and extreme brutality (as Volker is usually the first to start the violence, and dreadfully efficient at it, too). Sometimes it's even (intentionally) grammatically ambiguous whether Volker just decapitated smeone with his fiddle bow or whether he used his sword. You could always explore that further.
A note about canon: If you decide to write for this, if you want, you can also use canon from the Edda, the Þiðrekssaga and other old accounts of the same story. (They all overlap anyway - and actually, crossovers with German and Norse mythologies would be really hard to avoid even if you tried. Fortunately, you don't have to.) It's really up to you how you want to treat the canon. I'd appreciate something pre-canon, a missing scene, canon divergergence, alternate endings as well as AU fic changing the whole setting. (IN SPACE, maybe? Or what if the characters are players of a MMORPG - or the characters that are being played?)

Something related to Inanna's descent to the underworld, maybe? :) Ninshubur is Inanna's second-in-command and the one who not only genuinely grieves for Inanna but also takes action to get Inanna released. Inanna, in return, seems to favor Ninshubur over her own husband. So, it would be interesting to see shipfic for these two! AU is also fine.

Whether you want to keep it gen or to write shipfic is entirely up to you, here!

- I've always liked the story of how Odin gained knowledge of the runes. Tell me an alternate version of that story, one in which Loki interferes.

Actually, as a child, I used to be kind of obsessed with Alexander the Great - that's what got me interested in military strategy and tactics in the first place. Soooo, I'd be extra-happy if you decide to include not only the requested ship (although that's great and you can easily go into PWP territory there, no problem) but also war strategy and, as a side-note, world-domination plans... I'm more interested in the sprit of the thing than in historical accuracy (and I'd even be fine with a Fantasy or Sci-Fi AU), but... Heh.

- Alexander's military campaigns and the political situation at the time give lots of interesting story prompts, I believe.
- What do these guys talk about the evening before an important battle?
- Alexander had the reputation of having a bit of a temper. How does Hephaistion deal with that?

About the prompts involving demons and/or dark magic: all right, so I have a bit of a demon kink. This can go several ways, from a demon seducing the human to a human trying to summon a demon... I should probably mention that in demon characters I prefer "grey morality" or "alternative idea of morals" to "irredeemably evil" - it's just so much more interesting. Also, the morality of the human part of this equation is totally up to you - could be a dark mage, could be a perfectly innocent regular person. Who is the human character anyway and what are their motivations? And what kind of person is the demon? (I'm very interested in the interactions of characters with differing moral systems; you can have fun with that for example in Light Mage/Dark Mage.) It's up to you whether you want to write (possibly dark) romance, a character study, gothic/horror, an adventure story (with some sexual tension and/or romance on the side) or smut. (I prefer the demon mostly-human-looking although some fantasy attributes - like horns or wings or claws - are okay. In fact, wings are great. Is wing kink a thing? Just no overall animal/monster shape.) You can even go the crackfic route with the PhD thesis thing. (Though of course I'd also love that played straight!)
About the prompts involving deities: Generally, I love the concepts of deities interacting with humans. What kind of god is it, and what kind of human do they fall for? Is the human their most ardent worshipper, or just the opposite, someone who challenges them? (Maybe even an atheist?) I should probably mention that my favorite deities are usually those with trickster attributes (in that case: who's outsmarting whom?), or death deities, though that's not a must. Alternately, I'd also love to read about a scene of worship, ritual and/or an answered prayer. Basically, I'll love any kind of romance (or, indeed, smut) between a deity and a human. The worldbuilding is entirely up to you; I'll appreciate the classical fantasy/(pseudo-)historical trope just as much as more unusual settings. I'd love a detailed description of the (fictional) religion, the temple or wherever your story takes place. In case you want to write a sex scene, please let the deity appear in mostly-humanoid shape, although, obviously, some "fantasy" attributes are fine. You can give me some ritual sex and/or sex magic, it's all wonderful! :)

Two characters with a very different outlook on life, I'd assume. Are they enemies? Rivals? Reluctant allies? Either way, I'd love to see some romance between them. :)

I like all the usual tropes associated with those prompts - 'Enemies to Lovers', 'Rivals to Lovers', 'Rivals staying Rivals but having some fun on the way', and so on. The nature of their rivalry is up to you. Some ideas: Opponents at a game? Adventurers who are after the same goal? Scientists trying to solve the same problem? Your choice whether you want to write about a rivalry with just a bit of romance or sexual tension or... smut. Or anything in between, really. Also, it's entirely up to you what kind of setting you want to use for this. (My usual preferences are fantasy, historical (or pseudo-historical) and science fiction settings but I can easily be persuaded to read anything else as well!) If you go the military route and write General/General, I'd also love some actual tactics and/or strategies in the fic.
Musician/Dancer with magical powers (Original Work)
