Tag Set Vetting

Nominations are finished! We have, at last count, 14,891 relationships nominated across 1,340 fandoms.

First up, I'm not able to edit the tagset. AO3 is aware of the problem, but I'm also aware that we'd like to open signups on time! What I propose to do is do my best to keep an eye on it, and the minute I'm able to get into the console (which might happen), I will triage certain fixes as being essential. This is the order I plan to edit the tagset:

• Removal of duplicates and unassociated tags
• Deleting and recreating wandering tags
• Merging/splitting fandoms
• Any other changes.

Signups will not open until all identified duplicates are removed. I'll try doing the rest, but I'm keen to open on the 1st.

To make this faster for me and thus maximize my chances of getting everything done, I'm going to leave comments to this post. If you have identified a problem that needs to be changed, comment in reply to that comment only please!

• Tyrion Lannister & Varys (ASoIaF) - you've nominated this under Game of Thrones. Are you fine with me fixing that to be Varys (GoT)?

I think "Star Wars Legends: X-wing Series - Aaron Allston & Michael Stackpole" should be merged into "Star Wars Legends: X-wing Series - All Media Types". It looks like the ships have been wandering between them, as it is. And as someone who was planning to request/offer, having two separate fandoms is a pain. It doesn't look like there are even 20 nominated ships, so it should be easy enough to avoid the comic exclusive characters if someone only wants book characters.

Wandering tag under Small Trolls (Webcomic):
Sakari Harmonsuo & Veeti Harmonsuo (Year in Hereafter)

I see that this tag has also been properly nominated under Year in Hereafter (Webcomic), so it could be just deleted from the Small Trolls tags rather than deleted/moved to YiH.

Caveat: I'm not the original nominator, so this one is tricky, because there are indeed characters in the Small Trolls comic with these exact same names (Sakari Harmonsuo & Veeti Harmonsuo). Sakari has only appeared in the concept art so far but he does exist in that world. SO I'm not actually sure if the nominator actually did intend to nom the Small Trolls version of this gen relationship, or if the tag did wander from the Year in Hereafter section somehow.

The duplicate tag can be found under The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, and Crossover Fandoms. The correct tag is found only under Crossover Fandoms.

I nominated Lilah Morgan/Wesley Wyndam-Pryce under Angel: The Series, and I think it's wandered over into Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It's listed in both fandoms, and it seems really unlikely that someone would nominate Lilah/Wesley for BtVS given that she only appears in Ats.

(This may be solved by merging the fandoms?)

There are a few tags under crossover that are actually just DC Arrowverse tags:

Oliver Queen (Arrow) & Barry Allen (The Flash) & Kara Danvers (Supergirl)
Kara Danvers (Supergirl [TV 2015]) & Barry Allen (The Flash [TV 2014])

The first one (Oliver & Barry & Kara) is already under DC Arrowverse as Barry Allen & Kara Danvers & Oliver Queen (DC Arrowverse). The other two are only under Crossover.

I think Angel: The Series and Buffy the Vampire Slayer should be merged. Two characters (Angel and Cordelia) were regulars for the first three seasons of BtVS before moving over to Ats. Wesley was recurring on Buffy, becoming regular on Ats. Spike was a regular on BtVS for seasons 4-7 before, becoming a regular in Ats season 5. Lots of characters appear in both (Darla, Drusilla, Faith all have significant appearances in both series).

Misspelling: "Erza Bridger/The Seventh Sister (Rebels)" should be "Ezra".

And Boba Fett doesn't appear in Star Wars Rebels, so these really belong under either The Clone Wars or Crossover:
